CodeCanvas was born out of frustration. We saw too many South African businesses paying a fortune for websites that were slow, generic, and forgotten the moment they went live. We knew there was a better way.

Founded in 2020 in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, we started small a tight-knit team with big ambitions. Today we've grown to serve clients across the country, from Bloemfontein to Johannesburg, from small local restaurants to large corporate organisations.

2020

CodeCanvas is founded

Started as a solo freelance operation in Newcastle, KZN building websites for local businesses after hours and on weekends.

2021

First 50 clients & first hire

Demand grew faster than expected. We brought on our first full-time designer and expanded into e-commerce development.

2022

Expanding into Bloemfontein

Opened our Free State presence to serve the growing demand from businesses in Bloemfontein and surrounding areas.

2023

Launched our template library

Released templates.codecanvas.co.za making beautiful South African web design accessible and affordable for everyone.
